CAN I BRING THE BABY’S SIBLING FOR PHOTOS?

Yes, our sibling policy is as follows:
We ask that the older sibling(s) come with a second or third adult at the beginning of the session. We spend the first 15-20 minutes with siblings and newborn alone, then about 10 minutes are spent on full family shots.After that time, we ask that the additional family member brings the sibling(s) home or out for a special treat. The studio is small, hot and filled with heaters, equipment, lights and cords (not ideal toddler scenario). The remainder of the session is then dedicated to individual posed newborn shots, where we can focus on your new baby.

WHY ARE THERE TWO OF YOU?

This is what sets us apart form many other newborn photographers. Margaret does all of the photographing, while Natalie safely handles and poses your newborn. Our paramount concern is your baby's safety. We have extensive professional training and decades of experience between the two of us.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN FEE ARE THERE ANY OTHER COSTS?

Your digital gallery includes 30+ files. A full array of archival and unique products are available to purchase, at additional cost.  However, you are under no obligation to purchase anything else and the digital photo galley is yours

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR FAMILY PHOTOS?

Keep it simple! Soft pastels are nice. Stay away from bold patterns or designs that will look dated in a few years. Keep it classic. We often wrap newborns for the family portion. Pinterest is a good source for inspiration.

HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION LAST?

Newborn sessions tend to last 2-3 hours on average. We have to stop for feeds, fussiness and diaper changes multiple times and some babies take a while to fall asleep. Plan to be here for a while!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING FOR BABY? 

Extra diapers, wipes, if you are bottle feeding, lots of extra formula, burp cloths, a pacifier ( if you don’t have one, we have individual wrapped Pacis) if your child doesn’t use one, consider using it for the few hours you are at the session. We have found that some newborns need it to settle. You don’t need to bring anything else! We have all of the wraps, props and outfits you would need. If you have a sentimental item, ask us about it at booking. 

WHAT SHOULD I BRING FOR MYSELF/ PARTNER? 

Dress for the hot studio. We keep the studio very warm so baby is comfortable without clothing. Dress in light layers. Bring water, healthy snacks or anything else you may need while in the studio for 3 hours.. If you are breast feeding, please refrain from caffeine pre-session so we can get a sleepy baby.

WHAT IF I AM LATE?

Please don't be late! Arrive on time so we can fit in your whole session. If you are running late due to unforeseen circumstances, please let us know ASAP. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a full session if you are late to you appointment.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE UNTIL I GET MY DIGITAL IMAGES?

Images are usually ready for delivery between 2 and 3 weeks from the date of your session. We will sometimes, with parents' permission, will post a sneak peek on social media.

DO YOU SELL PRINTS , PRODUCTS AND ALBUMS?

Yes we offer a full range of prints, albums, Rustic Marlin photo blocks and canvases.

DO YOU PROVIDE DIGITAL IMAGES FROM OUR SESSION?

Yes, your images will be delivered on a digital online gallery. From there, you can download your images directly to your computer or purchase optional professional lab quality prints and products from us.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY NEWBORN SHOOT? HOW OLD SHOULD NEWBORN BE?

Between six to fourteen days old is ideal for posed sleepy newborn photos. It's ideal to book your newborn session before the baby is born, or as soon as possible after. Shoot us an email- we will do everything we can to accommodate your newborn session!

CAN I TAKE MY OWN PHOTOS?

We ask that you do not take photos during our photoshoot.

DO YOU ARCHIVE OUR PHOTOS IF WE ACCIDENTALLY DELETE OR LOSE THEM?

No, we recommend that you immediately make copies of your images. The best way to archive is to print. We have a variety of archival quality products available to purchase directly form your gallery.

WHAT SHOULD BABY WEAR?

We have lots of knitted hats and pants for newborns. We have a variety of wraps and outfits made especially for newborns. We have everything you would need. If you have anything you want baby to wear bring it along. Please make sure outfits actually fit the baby.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept personal check, cash & credit cards.
Payment in full is due at the time of your session.

TIPS:
Please try to keep the baby awake 1.5 hours before your session, this will help with keeping the baby asleep during the photoshoot.
Try to avoid, spicy & acidic foods & caffeine  the night  before your photoshoot. 
Remove leftover chippy nail polish 
Clean baby face/ eyelids before your session
Do not use lotion on the baby the morning of your photoshoot
